12-1608. Quarterly report by treasurer. (a) The treasurer of each city of the first or second class shall publish or cause to be published in a newspaper published in such city, or if there is no newspaper published in such city then in a newspaper published in the county in which such city is located and having a general circulation in such city, within 30 days after the quarter ending in March, June, September and December of each year, a statement showing the total amount received into each fund and the total amount expended from each fund and the cash balances of each fund at the beginning and close of each quarter. Such quarterly statement shall show the amount of outstanding registered warrants, temporary notes, bonds and all other obligations and liabilities of the city. (b) In the case of cities of the third class, the treasurer shall file an annual statement showing the total amount received into each fund and the total amount expended from each fund and the cash balances of each fund at the beginning and close of each year. Such annual statement shall show the amount of outstanding registered warrants, temporary notes, bonds and all other obligations and liabilities of the city. The annual statement shall be published within 30 days after December 31 of each year in the official city newspaper.
