59-2975. Unauthorized absence; procedure. If any involuntary patient leaves the place of the patient's detention or treatment without the authority of the head of the treatment facility, the head of the treatment facility shall notify the sheriff of the county in which the treatment facility is located of the involuntary patient's unauthorized absence and request that the patient be taken into custody and returned to the treatment facility. If oral notification is given, it shall be confirmed in writing as soon thereafter as reasonably possible. History: L. 1996, ch. 167, § 31; April 18.
