60-271. Acceptance of filings by electronic means. (a) Generally. (1) To the extent provided by supreme court rule, the clerks of the district and appellate courts must accept documents for filing by electronic means. (2) As used in this section, "document" means a pleading, motion, exhibit, declaration, affidavit, memorandum, paper, order, notice and any other filing by or to the court. (b) Signatures and verifications. A document may be signed or verified by electronic means that are consistent with supreme court rules. The signature or verification by electronic means satisfies the requirement for signing or verifying a document in K.S.A. 60-211, and amendments thereto, and in any other section of this code.
