65-7603. License prerequisite to practice acupuncture; representation as acupuncturist; penalties. (a) On and after July 1, 2017, except as otherwise provided in this act, no person shall practice acupuncture unless such person possesses a current and valid acupuncture license issued under this act. (b) (1) No person shall depict oneself orally or in writing, expressly or by implication, as a holder of a license who does not hold a current license under this act. (2) Only persons licensed under this act shall be entitled to use the title "licensed acupuncturist" or the designated letters "L.Ac." (3) Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit an acupuncturist licensed under this act from listing or using in conjunction with their name any letters, words, abbreviations or other insignia to denote any educational degrees, certifications or credentials which such licensed acupuncturist has earned.
