68-2317. Highway contracts; providing for prevailing wages. (a) Contracts entered into by the secretary of transportation for nonfederal aid state-funded projects shall be based on bid specifications prescribing that employees of any contractor or subcontractor shall be paid in accordance with prevailing wages determined in accordance with wage areas, job classifications and wage rates determined under the federal Davis-Bacon act. (b) Employees employed by contractors or subcontractors in the execution of nonfederal aid state-funded highway project contracts with the state of Kansas entered into by the secretary of transportation shall be paid at least the prevailing wage as determined in subsection (a). (c) The secretary of transportation shall administer the provisions of this section. History: L. 1989, ch. 209, § 4; July 1.
