74-49a128. Participating and prior service credit for certain employees; basis for computation of prior service credit. Notwithstanding the provisions of K.S.A. 74-4911 and 74-4913 to the contrary, an employee who became a member of the Kansas public employees retirement system on February 1, 1972, who was first employed by such participating employer on January 14, 1963, and who is employed by a participating employer on the effective date of this act, shall, upon the payment of the appropriate employer and employee contributions, be entitled to receive participating service credit for employment with his or her participating employer for the period January 1, 1965, until January 31, 1972. Such employee shall also be granted prior service credit from January 14, 1963, until December 31, 1964. The prior service benefit shall be computed by using a prior service salary of three thousand eight hundred twenty-seven dollars ($3,827). History: L. 1978, ch. 318, § 3; July 1.
