74-7008. Same; executive director and assistant executive director, appointment and salary; compensation and expenses of board members; personnel. (a) The board may appoint an executive director and an assistant executive director who shall be in the unclassified service of the Kansas civil service act and shall receive an annual salary fixed by the board. (b) Members of the state board of technical professions attending meetings of such board, or attending a subcommittee meeting thereof authorized by such board, shall be paid compensation, subsistence allowances, mileage and other expenses as provided in K.S.A. 75-3223 and amendments thereto. (c) The board may employ clerical personnel and other assistants all of whom shall be in the classified service under the Kansas civil service act and may make and enter into contracts of employment with such professional personnel as may be necessary, in the board's judgment, for the performance of its duties and functions and the execution of its powers.
