74-7311. Attorney fees. As part of any order, the board shall determine and award a reasonable attorney's fee, commensurate with services rendered, to be paid by the state to the attorney representing the claimant. Additional attorneys' fees may be awarded by a court in the event of review, and attorneys' fees may be denied on a finding that the claim or appeal is frivolous. Awards of attorneys' fees shall be in addition to awards of compensation and may be made whether or not compensation is awarded. It shall be unlawful for an attorney to contract for or receive any larger sum than the amount allowed pursuant to this section. History: L. 1978, ch. 130, § 11; L. 1989, ch. 239, § 16; July 1.
