76-12b07. Transfer of persons from institution to institution; transfer for treatment. The secretary may transfer a person from one institution to another institution whenever the secretary is of the opinion that the transfer is in the best interests of the person. The secretary may transfer temporarily a person to any other institution under the jurisdiction of the secretary for a period not to exceed 90 days to obtain treatment not available in an institution for people with intellectual disability. The secretary shall consult with the person, natural guardian or guardian prior to any transfer under this section. History: L. 1984, ch. 339, § 7; L. 2012, ch. 91, § 71; July 1.
