8-1501. Application of sections in article 15. The provisions of this article relating to the operation of vehicles refer exclusively to the operation of vehicles upon highways except: (a) Where a different place is specifically referred to in a given section; and (b) The provisions of K.S.A. 8-1566 through 8-1568 and the provisions of article 10 of chapter 8 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated, and amendments thereto, shall apply upon highways and elsewhere throughout the state. The words "elsewhere throughout the state" herein are part of K.S.A. 8-1567 and apply to operation of motor vehicles upon private as well as public property. State v. What constitutes a "traffic offense" as defined in K.S.A. 8-2117(d) examined; driving with suspended license (K.S.A. 8-262) held not within definition. State v.
