Minimum benefits under converted policy

(1) A converted policy issued pursuant to the conversion privilege contained in a group policy providing hospital or surgical expense insurance shall not impose a lifetime maximum benefit of less than five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000). (2) The commissioner by administrative regulation shall establish minimum benefits for a converted policy issued pursuant to the conversion privilege contained in a group health policy.
