To amend Title 7: Education Part 24: Mississippi Public School Accountability Standards, 2022 (Process Standard 17.4) to add the reference to Miss. Code Ann. § 37-11-57. Miss. Code Ann. § 37-11-57 mandates that a public-school teacher, assistant teacher, principal, assistant principal, or other school personnel is prohibited from using corporal punishment, on any student with a disability.

To amend Title 7: Education Part 24: Mississippi Public School Accountability Standards, 2021 (Process Standard 17.4) to add the reference to Miss. Code Ann. § 37-11-57. Miss. Code Ann. § 37-11-57 mandates that a public-school teacher, assistant teacher, principal, assistant principal, or other school personnel is prohibited from using corporal punishment, on any student with a disability.

To establish Part 239: Instructor’s Guide for Training School Bus Drivers

To establish Title 7, Part 3, Chapter 14, Rule 14.21 – Mississippi Assistant Teacher Requirements. The Assistant Teacher Program Requirements will provide clarity on the minimum qualifications for instructional assistant teachers in pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and upper grade levels.

To repeal Chapter 65 – Reading Improvement Program and Rule 65.2 – Assistance Teacher Program Regulations: The Mississippi Reading Improvement Regulations State Board Policy identified the Mississippi Elementary School Assistant Teacher Program Regulations as a component for implementation, however Rule 65.1 was repealed in February, 2012 and is no longer applicable, therefore invalidating Chapter 65 and Rule 65.2.
