The Department of Public Safety shall be responsible for the management of the trust fund and the disbursement of death benefits and other funeral, and burial expenses authorized under MCA §45-2-1, et seq. The Department of Public Safety is adopting rules and regulations necessary to implement and standardize the payment of death benefits under this section, to administer the trust fund and to carry out the purposes of this statute

Individuals who conduct asbestos abatement activities in Mississippi and who are regulated by the Asbestos National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) regulations are required to be certified by MDEQ. The Asbestos Abatement Accreditation and Certification Act was amended during the 2025 Legislative Session to closely align with EPA’s regulations and to make it easier to obtain certification. These proposed amendments reflect the recent changes to the Act and align this chapter with other MDEQ regulations
