At its October meeting, the Mississippi Community College Board (MCCB) voted to amend the board policy pertaining to standards for quality and accountability. The changes are to update old references of SACS to the current SACSCOC acronym and to update the maximum allowable absences chart to reflect courses that are vary from the traditional 18-week term

Proposal to strike, in its entirety, the regulations regarding bariatric practice registration and the requirements therein. This proposed change is submitted to expand access for patients seeking weight management by allowing physicians to treat a larger number of weight-loss patients

Proposed revision of the definitions section of the rules related to prescribing, administering, and dispensing medications. Updating terminology related to prescriptive authority to accurately reflect the term updated and removing a definition related to bariatric practice due to striking Pt. 2640, Ch. 1, R. 1.6 Bariatric Medicine, Medical Weight Loss, or Weight Management Practice in a subsequent rule filing

Adding specificity and clarification (Rules 4.1.1, 4.1.2, 4.1.5, and 4.3.6); Removing unnecessary language (Rules 4.1.3, 4.1.4, and 4.2.1); Repeal of rules (Rules 4.1.8 and 4.2.5)

Removing unnecessary language (Rule 3.1.4); Shorten rule by reference to statute (Rule 3.1.5); and proposal for replacement of antiquated language (Rule 3.1.11)

Removing unnecessary language &amp adding specificity (Rules 2.1.3 &amp 2.1.4); Revise to more closely align with the UAA (Rules 2.2.1 &amp 2.2.10)

Adding language more appropriate for the Foreward from repeal of Rule 8.2.14 and shortening of Rule 1.1 by reference to statute
