The Board is authorized to promulgate and enforce such rules, regulations and minimum standards as needed to carry out these provisions. The proposed changes reflect the National Scope of Practice for EMS providers

Section 41-59-5 (3), Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended, establishes the Mississippi State Department of Health is the lead agency shall establish and maintain a program for the improvement and regulation of Trauma System of Care. The Board is authorized to promulgate and enforce such rules, regulations and minimum standards as needed to carry out these provisions. The changes would allow for Mississippi hospitals to be recognized by national accrediting organization

TEMPORARY FILING Title 24 – Mississippi Department of Mental Health Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Certification Criteria (new rule). This is a TEMPORARY filing in a manual format to establish immediately needed criteria for DMH’s certification of eligible agencies as CCBHCs in Mississippi. Through these temporary rules, application for CCBHC certification through DMH is by invitation only for eligible agencies. In approximately April 2024, DMH plans to integrate these temporary CCBHC criteria into a proposed amendment (via the traditional, non-temporary filing process) to the existing Title 24; Part 2 – Mississippi Department of Mental Health (DMH) Operational Standards for Mental Health, Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Use Community Service Providers, which promulgates rules for agencies which are certified or are seeking certification by DMH

This rule was amended to reflect an amendment to Miss. Code Ann. §27-65-101 to exempt from Sales Taxation sales, leases, or other retail transfers of fixed-wing aircraft to, or to be used by, certificated common carriers in the transport of person or property in interstate, intrastate or foreign commerce, and engines, accessories and spare parts for such fixed-wing aircraft. These changes were enacted by House Bill No. 1885 during the 2024 regular session
