(1) There is created in the State Treasury a special fund to be designated as the “NG911 CMRS Grant Fund.” The fund shall be maintained by the State Treasurer as a separate and special fund, separate and apart from the General Fund of the state. Subject to appropriation by the Legislature, monies in the fund shall be disbursed by the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency only for capital improvements, equipment, software and other expenses directly attributed to the implementation of approved ECD NG911 plans, as well as for related purposes approved by the authority. Unexpended amounts remaining in the fund at the end of a fiscal year shall not lapse into the State General Fund, and any interest earned or investment earnings on amounts in the fund shall be deposited into such fund.
(2) Upon July 1, 2025, the existing CMRS board shall remit to the NG911 CMRS Grant Fund all revenues accrued from the existing accounts payable fund as established in Section 19-5-333.
