The board may, upon application therefor and the payment of a fee in accordance with this chapter, issue a license as a professional engineer or a professional surveyor to any person who holds a license issued to him or her by proper authority of any state or territory or possession of the United States, or of any country, provided that the applicant’s qualifications meet the requirements of this chapter and the rules established by the board. The board may also issue an engineering license to an individual through international professional engineer agreements recognized by the board. The issuance of a license by reciprocity to a military-trained applicant, military spouse or person who establishes residence in this state shall be subject to the provisions of Section 73-50-1 or 73-50-2, as applicable.
