Proceeding authorized

A civil proceeding may be maintained in the district court to adjudicate the parentage of a child. The proceeding is governed by the Rules of Civil Procedure for the District Courts [Rule1-001 NMRA]. The mother of the child and an alleged father or presumed father are competent to testify. Any witness may be compelled to testify. History: Laws 2009, ch. 215, § 6-601.
