Short Title

Short Title. This article shall be known and be cited as the “Tinian Acting Mayor and Municipal Council Acting Chairperson Act of 2007.” Source: Tinian LL 8-1, § 1; repealed and reenacted by Tinian LL 15-15, § 2(2311). Commission Comment: Tinian LL 8-1 took effect February 20, 1992. According to Tinian LL 8-1, §§ 2 and 3: Section 2. Purpose. The purpose of this local Act is to restore to the Mayor discretion to delegate authority to act in his stead during his absence and to repeal [LL 5-3] in its entirety. Section 3. Repeal. [LL 5-3], the Tinian Acting Mayor of 1987, is hereby repealed in its entirety. The repealed LL 5-3 was the precursor of this article. Tinian Local Law 15-15, effective February 6, 2008, included findings and purpose, severability and savings clause provisions.
