§ 10309. Possession of certain dangerous weapons prohibited. (a) No person shall possess any machine gun, sawed-off shotgun, knuckles, or any instrument or weapon of the kind commonly known as a blackjack, slungshot, sand club, sandbag, switchblade knife, butterfly knife, nor any other dangerous device or destructive device as defined in this Division. (b) No person shall possess any instrument, attachment, or appliance for causing the firing of any firearm to be silent or intended to lessen or muffle the noise of the firing of any firearms. (c) Whoever violates this section shall be punished by a fine of not more than $2,500 or imprisonment for not more than 1 year, or both. However, if the violation occurs after such person has been convicted in the Commonwealth of a violation of this Division, or of a felony, either in the Commonwealth or in another jurisdiction, in which case such person shall be imprisoned for not more than 10 years, and may be fined not more than $25,000.
