DIVISION 10: SPECIAL ACT FOR FIREARMS ENFORCEMENT (SAFE) § 10621. Fee waiver. (a) The Department of Public Safety may not charge a fee under this Chapter to any member of law enforcement. Provided, the Department of Public Safety may take this subsection into account when determining the amount of appropriate fees for administering this Chapter. (b) The Department of Public Safety may not charge a fee under this Chapter to any person who has acquired a firearm by operation of law upon the death of the former owner of the firearm within the preceding 60 days. Provided, the Department of Public Safety may take this subsection into account when determining the amount of appropriate fees for administering this Chapter.
