DIVISION 10: SPECIAL ACT FOR FIREARMS ENFORCEMENT (SAFE) § 10702. Notification duty of firearm owners. (a) Every person or organization has a duty to report to the Department of Public Safety on a prescribed form within three business days: (1) the loss, theft, or destruction of a firearm registered to him or her, including the circumstances, upon discovery of such loss, theft, or destruction; and (2) when the firearm is transferred outside of the Commonwealth. (b) Failure to comply with this section is a civil infraction punishable by a fine of $500. Source: PL 19-73 § 5 (Dec. 1, 2016), modified.
