Director: Appointment and Duties. (a) The chair of the commission shall, with commission approval, appoint a director academically qualified or by training and experience to perform the duties set forth in this chapter. The director shall be exempt from the civil service. (b) The executive director may, with commission approval, hire such professional, clerical, and other staff as may be deemed necessary to assist the commission in performing its duties and functions.
