Northern Marianas Technical Institute Established. (a) There shall be in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands government a career, trades, and technical training institution to be known as the “Northern Marianas Technical Institute.” The CEO of the Institute shall be appointed by the Board of Trustees and shall be the head of the Institute. (b) The Northern Marianas Technical Institute is established as a nonprofit public corporation under the general control and direction of a Board of Trustees, which is hereby created, and it shall enjoy all powers conferred by law upon a public corporation. The Institute shall adopt bylaws that enumerate its purposes, duties, powers, and rules of organization and operation, the bylaws of which shall be consistent with this Chapter. (c) The current members of the Board of Directors for Northern Marianas Trades Institute may be appointed to serve as interim members of the Board of Trustees for the Northern Marianas Technical Institute for up to one year until the Governor appoints and the Senate confirms new members of the Board of Trustees.
