Civil Penalties. In addition to the civil and criminal penalties provided in 2 CMC § 1141 of the Marine Sovereignty Act of 1980 [2 CMC § 1101 et seq.], any person who violates any provision of this chapter may be fined in an amount of not more than $1 million. Any vessel or aircraft used in any connection with a violation of this chapter is subject to forfeiture to the government of the Commonwealth. The crew and personnel of such vessel or aircraft may be detained and summarily deported if criminal charges are not anticipated. Source: PL 3-42, § 8.
