§ 1623. Request for Court Records of Another State. If a custody decree has been rendered in another state concerning a child involved in a custody proceeding pending in the Commonwealth Trial Court, the Commonwealth Trial Court upon taking jurisdiction of the case shall request of the court of the other state a certified copy of the transcript of any court records and other documents mentioned in 8 CMC § 1622. Commission Comment: Section 4 of PL 6-25, the “Commonwealth Judicial Reorganization Act of 1989,” provides that “[w]herever the term ‘Commonwealth Trial Court’ appears in the Commonwealth Code, it is henceforth to be interpreted and understood to refer to the Commonwealth Superior Court.”
