Short Title

Short Title. This article may be cited as the Uniform Parentage Act. Source: PL 4-38, § 27. Commission Comment: PL 4-38 took effect April 1, 1985. The Uniform Parentage Act was approved by the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws in 1973. PL 4-38 retained most of the language in the uniform act, which has been adopted (with variations) in several U.S. jurisdictions. In the January 1997 code revision, the Commission changed references to “this chapter” to “this article” because of the addition of article 2 to this chapter.
