Disposition of Contraband Material

Disposition of Contraband Material. Anything attempted to be brought into or transported within the Commonwealth in contravention of the controls, quarantines or regulations established pursuant to the Biosecurity Act shall be seized by a customs and biosecurity officer and destroyed by fire or other appropriate means, or expelled from the Commonwealth, or returned to its place of origin, at the expense of the importer or consignee, who shall be jointly and severally liable, depending on the risk involved.
