10 CMC § 20312

§ 20312. Implementation and Responsibilities. (a) The Mayor’s Office of the Municipality of Tinian and Aguiguan shall have the responsibility of implementing, enforcing, and maintaining road naming and addressing standards as defined by this Article. (b) Property owners are responsible for placing numeric identification and for erecting private road signs in accordance with this Article. Posting of addresses and road names must be done within four months of issuance of the address or road name. Private road signs shall be erected under the guidance of the CNMI Public Works Department. (c) The Director of CNMI Public Works Department shall be responsible for erecting and maintaining public road signs at road intersections and for notifying property owners and residents which street names and address numbers have been assigned by the Committee. (d) The property owner is responsible for the designation of access points on the public or private road and installation and maintenance of any required road signs at such access. The access point(s) designated by the property owner shall be utilized to determine the address of the parcel. Such access point(s) are subject to review and approval of the Municipality to ensure that they are accessible to emergency service providers. (e) All addresses should comply with the addressing guidelines outlined in Section 20302 of this Article. The order of precedents will be E911 (Emergency Services guidelines), and the United States Post Office Addressing Standards (pub. 28). (f) In the event that violations of this Article are not corrected by the date required herein, the CNMI Public Works Department may perform the work and bill the property owner(s).
