Exemption from Immunization Requirement; Inapplicability of Exemption. (a) A child may be exempted from the required immunizations if a licensed physician certifies that the physical condition of the child is such that immunizations would endanger the child’s life or health. (b) If at any time there is, in the opinion of the Department of Public Health and Environmental Services, danger of an epidemic from any of the communicable diseases for which immunization is required under this article, no exemption from immunization against such disease shall be recognized. Quarantine shall be a legal alternative to immunization. Source: PL 1-33, §§ 5, 6.
