§ 2185. Authority to Assume Rights, Obligations and Duties of the Government. (a) The authority shall assume all rights, obligations, and duties of the government or the airport authority under any agreements that the government or the airport authority may have with any department or agency of the United States in connection with the operation of any ports in the Commonwealth and shall be eligible to act for the Commonwealth and to do anything necessary to establish eligibility for ADAP and other federal funding. (b) The authority shall assume the benefits and obligations of the Commonwealth under the Joint Use Agreement executed between the Trust Territory and the United States on May 10, 1972. (c) All lawful obligations of the government or the airport authority existing on October 8, 1981, and all fines, taxes, penalties, forfeitures, obligations and rights, due, owing or accruing to the government or the airport authority, and all writs, prosecutions, actions and proceedings by or against the government or the airport authority shall remain unaffected by the adoption of this chapter. (d) All petitions, hearings and other proceedings pending before the airport authority abolished by this chapter and all legal proceedings and investigations begun by the airport authority and not completed by October 8, 1981, shall continue and remain in full force and effect.
