§ 2391. Division of Veterans’ Affairs: Established. [Repealed by PL 1334.] Source: PL 9-16, § 2 (§ 2391), modified; repealed by PL 13-34, § 7. Commission Comment: PL 9-16 took effect January 5, 1995. According to PL 9-16, § 1: Section 1. Findings. The Legislature finds that veterans returning to the CNMI after serving their tours of duty in the United States Armed Forces are often at a disadvantage in finding employment in the CNMI. The Legislature further finds that there is not presently any government agency or division charged with assisting returning veterans. The Legislature further finds that veterans should be protected from discrimination in employment. With respect to the reference to the “Department of Community and Cultural Affairs” in former 1 CMC § 2391, see Executive Order 94-3 (effective August 23, 1994), reorganizing the executive branch, changing agency names and official titles, and effecting other changes, set forth in the Commission comment to 1 CMC § 2001; see also the comment to 1 CMC § 2351.
