§ 2527. Disaster Control Office: Duties. The Disaster Control Office shall: (a) Determine requirements for the Commonwealth and its political subdivisions for food, clothing and other necessities in the event of an emergency; (b) Coordinate with appropriate government agencies to procure and preposition supplies, medicine, materials, and equipment; (c) Promulgate general standards and requirements for local disaster plans; (d) Periodically review local disaster plans; (e) Provide for mobile support units; (f) Establish and operate, or assist disaster agencies to establish and operate, training programs and programs of public information; (g) Make surveys of industries, resources, and facilities within the Commonwealth both public and private, as are necessary to carry out the purposes of the Disaster Relief Act (3 CMC § 5101 et seq.). (h) Plan and make arrangements for the availability and use of any private facilities, services and property, and if in fact used, provide for payment for such use under terms and conditions agreed upon or under the provisions of 3 CMC § 5132 in the absence of such agreement; (i) Establish a register of persons with types of training and skills important in emergency prevention, preparedness, response and recovery; (j) Establish a register of mobile and construction equipment and temporary housing available for use in a disaster emergency; (k) Assist the Governor in the preparation of executive orders and regulations as necessary or appropriate in coping with disasters; (l) Cooperate with the United States government and any public or private agency or entity in achieving any purpose of the Disaster Relief Act (3 CMC § 5101 et seq.) in implementing programs for disaster prevention, preparation, response and recovery; and (m) Do other things necessary, incidental or appropriate for the implementation of the Disaster Relief Act (3 CMC § 5101 et seq.).
