Exemption from Public Law 10-57. [Repealed and reenacted by PL 12-33, § 3.]

1 CMC § 2678 — under Department of Lands and Natural Resources.

1 CMC § 2678

TITLE 1: GOVERNMENT

DIVISION 2: EXECUTIVE BRANCH

§ 2678. Exemption from Public Law 10-57. [Repealed and reenacted by PL 12-33, § 3.] Source: PL 10-61, § 2; repealed and reenacted by PL 12-33, § 3. Commission Comment: PL 10-61 took effect June 26, 1997. According to PL 10-61, § 1: Section 1. Findings. The Legislature finds that it is in the public interest that the Commonwealth government enter into a lease of public lands with the United States Postal Service, so that a new and modern post office may be constructed. Public Law 10-57 requires that all leases of public land be approved by the Board of Public Lands. However, the Board has not yet been constituted, and time is of the essence in this matter. Therefore, for purposes of this lease only, the Legislature finds that it is in the public interest to allow a one-time exemption from P.L. 10-57 so that the Governor may enact the lease for the new post office. PL 12-33, § 3, which took effect December 5, 2000, repealed and reenacted Article 3 as Chapter 14 under Division 2 of Title 1.
