§ 28002. Definitions. As used in this Chapter, the term: (a) “Department” shall mean the “Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services;” (b) “Commissioner” shall mean the Commissioner of Fire and Emergency Medical Services; (c) “Emergency Medical Services” shall mean EMS; (d) “Emergency medical technician” shall mean EMT; (e) “Cardiopulmonary resuscitation” shall mean CPR; (f) “Emergency medical responder” shall mean EMR; (g) “Basic life support prehospital provider” shall mean an EMR and EMT performing duties in an out-of-hospital environment; (h) “Advanced life support prehospital provider” shall mean an Advanced EMT and paramedic performing duties in an out-of-hospital environment; (i) “EMS for Children” shall mean EMSC; (j) “Traumatic brain injury” shall mean TBI; (k) “National Fire Protection Association” shall mean NFPA; (l) “U.S. Department of Transportation” shall mean U.S. DOT; (m) “Emergency Vehicle Operators Course” shall mean EVOC; (n) “American Heart Association” shall mean AHA; and (o) “Fair Labor Standards Act” shall mean FLSA. The Commission moved a semicolon inside a quotation mark in subsection (a) pursuant to 1 CMC § 3806(g).
