§ 28042. Division of Logistics and Support: Duties and Responsibilities. The Division of Logistics and Support shall have the following duties and responsibilities: (a) To purchase, service, repair, and maintain the fleet of fire apparatus, ambulances, rescue units, and service vehicles for continuous emergency operations; (b) To maintain department buildings and grounds; (c) To procure and maintain equipment and supplies for firefighting, emergency medical services, search and rescue, hazardous materials, wildland firefighting, and other related equipment and supplies; (d) To provide operational support to emergency services by engaging in the prevention, control, and extinguishment of fires and responding to emergency situations where life, property, or the environment is at risk; (e) To establish tour of duty schedules based on rotating 24-hour shifts; and (f) To receive and manage all applicable federal grants.
