§ 2882. Division of Corrections: Duties and Responsibilities. The Division of Corrections shall: (a) Establish, maintain, operate and control the adult correctional facility within the Commonwealth for the protection of the general public and crime victims, and for the care, custody and discipline of persons convicted of offenses against the Commonwealth; (b) Establish and administer correctional programs as funded by the Legislature, including (1) Rehabilitative, educational and vocational programs; (2) Institutional alcohol and substance-abuse treatment programs; (3) Sex-offender counseling or treatment programs; (4) Repeat-offender prevention programs; and (5) Other remedial programs as needed.
