Exemption from Federal Law. Pursuant to the authority vested by 15 U.S.C. § 1172, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands is exempted from the provisions of 15 U.S.C. § 1172. Commission Comment: The cited statute, 15 U.S.C. § 1172, provides that it is illegal to knowingly transport any gambling device into a state, the District of Columbia, or any possession of the United States, unless the state, district or possession has enacted a law providing for the exemption of the jurisdiction from the provisions of 15 U.S.C. § 1172.
