§ 3302. Appointment and Term of Office; Vacancies. (a) The Governor shall appoint the Commonwealth judiciary, with the advice and consent of the Senate. The term of office of judges and justices of the Commonwealth courts shall be six years. However, any Commonwealth judge or justice who has served a full term of six years in any court of the Commonwealth and is thereafter reappointed as Commonwealth judge or justice shall serve for a term of 12 years. (b) Any judge or justice appointed to fill a vacancy in a Commonwealth court shall be appointed for a full term as provided in subsection (a) of this section. Source: PL 6-25, § 3, ch. 3 (§ 3302).
