Short Title. This article may be cited as the Consumer Protection Act. Source: 33 TTC § 351; amended by PL 6-46, § 1, modified. Commission Comment: PL 6-46 took effect February 2, 1990. See also 1 CMC § 2155 et seq. PL 6-46 repealed portions of the former Consumer Protection Act, codified at 4 CMC § 5101 et seq. (originally 33 TTC §§ 351-364). According to 5 CMC § 9203(4), in case of conflict between the Uniform Commercial Code of the Northern Mariana Islands, division 9 (5 CMC § 9101 et seq.) and the former Consumer Protection Act, 33 TTC §§ 351-364, the provisions in the Consumer Protection Act control. Prior to 1997 revision, this article was codified (with the same section numbers) as chapter 1 of this division.
