GENERAL PROVISIONS
§ 430.02. Route 30 and Route 33: Governor Arnold I. Palacios Memorial Highway. Part of Route 30 from the Chalan Piao Intersection that runs north to the Bank of Guam Intersection in Garapan and Route 33 that starts after the Bank of Guam Intersection and ends at the Micro Beach Road Intersection in Garapan are hereby renamed “Governor Arnold I. Palacios Memorial Highway.” Source: SLL 24-16, § 2 (Dec. 29, 2025). Commission Comment: SLL 24-16 contained a findings and purpose section that states: Section 1. Findings and Purpose. The Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation (SNILD) finds that the former late Governor Arnold I. Palacios distinguishably and tirelessly served the government and people of the CNMI for over thirty years as a public servant in many capacities but most notably as the CNMI Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Senate President and Speaker of the House. The SNILD joins the people of the CNMI in honoring the life, legacy, and service of former Late Governor Arnold I. Palacios by renaming part of Routes 30 and 33 beginning at the Chalan Piao Intersection and ending at Micro Beach Road Intersection in Garapan. Additionally, under section 3, the Mayor of Saipan is authorized to administer the provisions of this Act.
