§ 4877. Officers and Staff of the Museum. (a) Executive Director. The board shall appoint an executive director to administer the operations of the museum on behalf of the board. The board may establish the qualifications of the executive director. The executive director’s salary shall be set by the board and shall not be limited by the salary ceiling imposed by 1 CMC § 8248. The executive director shall be the chief executive officer of the museum and shall direct, manage and administer the museum’s general operations. (b) Museum’s Comptroller. The comptroller shall keep the official books and accounts of the museum, prepare an annual report of the financial condition of the museum for the board, and perform such other functions as the executive director or the board may require. (c) Other Corporate Officers. The executive director may hire assistant directors to be in charge of one or more operating divisions of the museum. (d) Staff. The museum may employ such additional persons as the board deems necessary. Staff employed by the museum shall be exempt from the civil service system and shall be hired pursuant to excepted service contracts. Source: PL 10-5, § 8; subsection (d) amended by PL 12-57, § 5.
