§ 5117. Service of Notices, Demands or Subpoenas. Service of any notice, demand or subpoena under this article shall be made personally within the Commonwealth, but if personal service cannot be obtained, substituted service may be made in the following manner: (a) Personal service thereof without the Commonwealth; or (b) The mailing thereof by registered or certified mail to the last known place of business, residence or abode within or without the Commonwealth of such person for whom the same is intended; or (c) As to any person other than a natural person, in the manner provided in the Rules of Civil Procedures as if a complaint or the pleading which institutes a civil proceeding had been filed; or (d) Such service as the Commonwealth Superior Court may direct in lieu of personal service within the Commonwealth.
