§ 53014. Powers; Licenses; Federal Law. (a) Neither the Commission or the Division of Agriculture may refuse to perform any duty under this chapter on the basis that manufacturing, distributing, dispensing, possessing, or using marijuana is prohibited by federal law. (b) The Commission may not revoke or refuse to issue or renew a license under this chapter on the basis that manufacturing, distributing, dispensing, possessing, or using marijuana is prohibited by federal law. (c) The Commission may limit the number of available licenses under this chapter if it determines that doing so is necessary for the safe and effective regulation of marijuana in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
