§ 5405. Conduct of Pedestrians on Approach of Authorized Emergency Vehicles. Upon the approach of an authorized emergency vehicle sounding a siren or having at least one lighted light exhibiting red or blue light visible under normal atmospheric conditions from a distance of 500 feet to the front of the vehicle, all pedestrians upon the highway shall remain in a place of safety or proceed to the nearest curb or place of safety until the authorized emergency vehicle has passed, except when otherwise directed by a police officer.
