2 CMC § 5413

TITLE 2: NATURAL RESOURCES

DIVISION 5: ANIMALS, PLANTS AND FOOD

§ 5413. Examination and Inspection of Animals Prior to Slaughtering. For the purpose of preventing the use in export commerce of meat and meat food products which are adulterated, the director shall cause to be made, by inspectors appointed for that purpose, an examination and inspection of all cattle, sheep, swine and goats before they are allowed to enter into any slaughtering, packing, meat-canning, rendering, or similar establishment in the Commonwealth in which slaughtering and preparation of meat and meat food products of such animals are conducted solely for export commerce. All cattle, sheep, swine and goats found on such inspection to show symptoms of disease shall be set apart and slaughtered separately from all other cattle, sheep, swine or goats. When so slaughtered, the carcasses of those cattle, sheep, swine or goats shall be carefully examined and inspected, all as provided by the rules and regulations adopted by the director. The director may, with the approval of the Governor, promulgate and issue rules and regulations covering the disposition of condemned carcasses and materials classified as inedible. Such rules and regulations shall have the force and effect of law. Source: 25 TTC § 52.
