3 CMC § 5424

Contents of Application for Certificate of Number. The application for a certificate of number shall be made by the owner to the director in accordance with procedures and forms prescribed by the director along with the fees as required by 3 CMC § 5432 and shall contain: (a) Name and address, of the owner; (b) Island in which the vessel is principally used; (c) Present Commonwealth or Coast Guard number issued the vessel, if any; (d) Statement as to use (pleasure, livery, government, commercial fishing, charter fishing, carrying passengers for hire, or other); (e) A description of the vessel including, but not limited to, the following so far as it exists: hull material (wood, steel, aluminum, plastic, other), type of propulsion (outboard, inboard, inboard-outboard, sail, other), manufacturer’s rated horsepower, type of fuel (gas, diesel, other), length of vessel, make, type, builder, year built, and country in which built; (f) Manufacturer’s hull identification number, if any; (g) Proof of ownership of the vessel; and (h) Any further information the director reasonably requires to identify the vessel and to enable the director to determine whether the owner is entitled to a certificate of number and the existence or nonexistence of security interests in the vessel.
