§ 6904. Office of the Governor-Elect: Access to Information. To further such cooperation, the head of each department, office, board, commission, instrumentality, or other entity of the executive branch, and the head of each independent entity of the Commonwealth government including any government corporation, shall upon request: (a) Make available all files and records, except personal working files, any confidential files of persons appointed by the Governor, and any files, such as tax records, to which access is prohibited by law. (b) Extract information from such files and records in response to reasonably specific requests; (c) Make available sufficient staff to carry out these duties within a reasonable time period and serve as liaison to the office of the Governor-elect; provided, that the Governor-elect or a designee may request that specific individuals be assigned for this purpose, but that the final decision regarding the assignment shall rest with the head of the entity.
