§ 7115. Alternate Materials and Methods of Construction. [Repealed.] [Effective 180 days after Dec. 19, 2019, this section is repealed.] Source: PL 6-45, § 1 (§ 7115); repealed by PL 21-14, § 2 (Dec. 19, 2019). Commission Comment: PL 21-14, § 8, provided a delayed effective date for the repeal of this section. See the Commission Comment to 2 CMC § 7114 for the full text of this effective date provision. Prior to its repeal, this section read as follows: (a) The provisions of this building safety code are not intended to prevent or discourage the use of any device, equipment, material, or method of construction not specifically prescribed by this code, provided that any such alternative has been approved and its use expressly authorized in writing by the building safety official. (b) The proponent shall file a request for authorization to use the proposed new or alternate material, method, device or equipment, accompanied by proof in support of the claims regarding the consistency of the proposed use with the standards established by this safety code.
