§ 7117. Survey and Record of Buildings. (a) As the building safety official receives requests for use, occupancy, expansion, improvement, and repair and, as funding permits, additional surveying, within three years from February 2, 1990, the building safety official shall conduct a survey of all buildings and structures in the Commonwealth. The building safety official shall establish and maintain a complete, current record of each and every building and structure surveyed, its use, nature, and physical condition. (b) The building safety official shall keep official records of plans, specifications, computations, and applications received, permits and certificates issued, fees collected, reports of inspections, and notices, rules, regulations, decisions and orders issued. File copies of papers in connection with building operations shall be retained in the official records as long as the building or structure to which they relate remains in existence.
